Good to know
What is a LIR?
A Local Internet Registry is an organisation authorised by RIPE NCC to assign IP address space and ASNs within the RIPE region (Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia). We are a member, so we can do that for you.
Do I need my own ASN to use an IPv4 block?
Not necessarily — a /24 can be routed through our ASN. If you want full routing autonomy and multi-homing, registering your own ASN is the way to go.
How long does it take?
Once the paperwork is in, RIPE NCC usually processes ASN assignments within 2–3 business days. We handle the submission for you.
What happens if I stop the subscription?
Resources stay registered to your organisation for as long as the subscription is active. If it lapses, they return to the pool per RIPE NCC policy.
